The International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation (IWAS) and its forbears have been part of the Paralympic Movement since it was founded by Sir Ludwig Guttmann in the 1950s.
Vision
Over the years IWAS has had many names but the central vision of the organisation has stayed the same.
To inspire the global growth of sporting opportunities for athletes with a physical disability.
Mission
To provide a world class sporting pathway from grassroots development through to elite performance for athletes with a physical disability around the world.
